Current Opening:
Student Ministry Pastor

The Student Ministry Pastor will facilitate and oversee the discipling of students (middle and high school) at Emmaus. They will create time and provide a safe space for students to have community with Jesus and the Church.  They will lead these students to worship, serve, love, and grow in Jesus. Take a moment to learn more about Emmaus Student Ministry.

Qualifications:

  • Strong relationship with Jesus as evidenced by spiritual maturity.

  • Commit to and support the theological stances of Emmaus Church.

  • Love and passion of seeing students accept and grow in their faith in Jesus.

  • Demonstrates strong conflict management and public relations skills.

  • Demonstrates flexibility and patience under pressure in changing and/or emergency situations.

  • Demonstrates an ability to recruit and lead a student ministry leadership team.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in theology or student ministry or equivalent experience and training preferred.

  • Experience in recruiting volunteers and developing teams preferred.

Reports to:

  • Co-Lead Pastor over youth ministry

Responsibilities:

  • Create and lead a weekly worship service with worship and teaching.

  • Create a leadership team to assist in discipleship and general serving.

  • Lead and delegate leaders for small groups/bible study.

  • Regularly meet with students throughout the week/ attend events on campus

  • Organize events to facilitate community.

  • Organize 2-3 retreats a year (Fall, Spring, Summer)

  • Create ways for students to serve the community.

  • Lead an annual mission trip for students.

  • Create a social media presence for student ministry at Emmaus.

  • Weekly office hours and staff meetings

 Additional Information and responsibilities:    

  • Wednesday night, Friday night, special events and Sunday service times along with in office hours will be required.         

  • Assist with the organization of any church service and special event.             

  • Create community-building initiatives.                

  • Brainstorm new ideas on how Emmaus can connect with others to share the hope of Jesus.
